Jury Application

Considering serving on the Trellis Micro-grant jury? Here’s what that entails!

There are two jury pools: Organizations and Artists. A jury will be convened for each discipline in both fields (Visual/Studio Arts, Film/Video Arts, Theatre/Dance, Music/Audio Arts, Literature, Community Engaged Arts, and Multimedia Arts), consisting of artists with experience in that field. You can apply to jury in more than one field, provided you have some experience in it, but please rank your preferences in order of familiarity. ELAN staff will support the jury process but will not have a vote on funding recommendations.

Jury duty will involve logging initial impressions through an online evaluation sheet, then attending a jury meeting online or in-person to finalize recommendations for the Final Jury. The Final Jury will then select applications to be funded from the pre-selections of each Pod.

All jury members will, of course, receive an honorarium for their time.

If you want to be considered to take part, kindly apply below. Don’t be dissuaded if you’ve never served on an arts jury before or are an emerging artist—we want to have a diverse group in terms of experience as well as background!

Please note if you are selected for a jury, you will not be able to apply for a grant within that pool (Artist or Organization). You may apply for a different pool. Past applicants are welcome.
